About the Role
The Finance team at Learnerbly is at an interesting stage of its development. We have just raised our Series A, and are in the process of implementing a number of growth initiatives and investment decisions. We are now starting to build out a highly effective finance team and implement scalable processes, and this role will be a key part of this phase of our growth.
Reporting to our Head of Finance Experience, Dan Evans 👋, this role will introduce the concept of Finance Business Partnering to our Operations, PX, Product, and Engineering teams, building out our processes, systems and reporting in these areas while showing them the value that can be added by a Finance business partner. 🤩
At Learnebly we’re building a “Business Partnering First” Finance team. Our team is structured by the teams that we partner with, rather than your traditional Finance teams (think financial accounting, management accounting, Fin Ops). This means that we’re looking for well-rounded individuals who are capable of understanding all aspects of Finance for their partners in the business.
Here’s what you’ll be getting up to:
- Building a strong relationship with the teams that you work with, being the first point of contact for the majority of team members.
- Ensuring the accuracy of our numbers by processing our transactions.
- Being a superuser for our financial systems, tools and processes. You’ll be using these systems on a day to day basis, so your knowledge will be second to none. You will be able to identify and improve areas were we aren’t making the most of systems, or have process issues.
- Self-solving problems with the information accessible to you; demonstrating that you’ve absorbed and applied previous learnings.
- Protecting all our People facing information (e.g. Notion) and data integrity in our tooling (e.g. Xero, Spendesk, Chargebee), so all our information is kept completely accurate.
- When you think you're done, you'll be making it even better.
This role will be a great fit if:
- You have experience in a Finance role where you've had to support teams outside of Finance, and are able to build relationships outside of the team.
- You can spot a spreadsheet error a mile off, and pride yourself on your attention to detail.
